The short version
You trust us with photos of your child. They are securely processed only to create your book, including by the AI partners explained below, and are never shared publicly. We do not sell your data, use your photos to advertise, or train AI models on them.
What we collect
Your email address, the photos you upload, the names and details you share about your family, and the stories we create together. If you purchase a book, our payment partner Stripe collects your payment details and shipping address; we never see your card number.
How photos are used
To illustrate your book, photos are processed by our AI partners (Google and OpenAI) under agreements that prohibit them from using your content to train their models. The watercolor portraits and story pages we create are stored securely so your library is there when you return. Your photos are never shared publicly.
Children
Heirloom is a service for parents and guardians. Accounts are created by adults, and every photo of a child is uploaded by that child's parent or guardian, who controls it. We collect no information from children directly.
Keeping and deleting
We keep your library so your books are always yours to revisit and reprint. If you want anything removed, from a single photo to your entire account, email us at hello@heirloom.family and we will delete it. Unfinished drafts created without an account are deleted automatically.
